Physi
An interactive pediatric physiotherapy tool that visualizes progress through quantitative data and turns therapy into play
About Physi
The project was initiated with the brief to design a digital twin. Adopting a data-enabled design approach, the team developed Physi, a playful add-on for the BOSU balance trainer that supports pediatric physiotherapy for children with gross motor skill challenges. Through research and close stakeholder involvement, key needs were identified, including the need for clearer insights for physiotherapists and more engaging, dynamic physiotherapy for children.
Physi combines balance training with game-based interactions to increase motivation while collecting data on balance and pressure distribution. This data is visualised in a supportive app, providing therapists with insights into motor development and enabling data-informed care.
A high-fidelity prototype was developed and deployed for testing, generating insights to inform further development.
